Hobbies: Home brewing, Cross Fit, hiking, music production, cooking, playing on the water (anything involving a lake or river) and running through the woods with my kids and my husband
Interesting things about me: I have an identical twin brother and I am the proud father of twin boys! I once worked and lived in a Sake brewery in Japan and ate chicken sashimi (and lived to tell the tale)
Favorite genre of music to spin: Hands down, 90's and early 2000's Hip Hop and Top 40!

What have I been listening to recently: Paul Simon, Fela Kuti, Shouse, lots of Motown, and NPR
My favorite moment during a wedding: The toasts! I get all the feels during the toasts. If dad tears up, odds are I am happy crying too. The toasts always tug at the heartstrings and I love it!

My name is DJ Mitch Fortune (yes that is my real name), and let me tell you, there's nothing I love more than rocking a killer party and making sure your wedding dance floor is the hottest spot in town.
My love affair with music started 30 years ago when I DJ'ed my own 15th birthday bash using some cheap gear and silly lights I bought at my local Radio Shack (remember that store?). From there, it just snowballed into playing high school dances, radio gigs, and before I knew it, college nights around Raleigh and Durham were fueled by my mixes at frat parties and local clubs.
Speaking of college, I actually snagged a degree in Dramatic Arts from UNC Chapel Hill, with a focus on lightin' things up (literally) as well as sound design. So you know I can create a vibe with lighting and an atmosphere that'll have everyone feeling like they're the star of the show – which, on your wedding day, you totally are!
Fast forward to today, and I've been spinnin' tunes for happy couples in Asheville for over 15 years. Think of me as your personal party conductor, workin' my magic behind the decks to keep the energy high and the dance floor packed. Every wedding is unique, so I collaborate with you to craft a custom playlist that reflects your taste and gets everyone moving – young folks, grandparents, the whole crew!
Living in Asheville with my awesome husband Jake, our rambunctious twins Aiden and Andrew, our pup Pepper, and our feline friend Dos keeps things pretty lively outside of weddings. But when it comes to your big day, my focus is 100% on makin' it an unforgettable celebration.
